The 33rd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was played between England vs New Zealand on 1 November in Brisbane, ‘The Gabba‘, which England won by 20 runs.

Along with these two teams, the eyes of Australia were also fixed on this match.

With Jos Buttler’s captaincy innings, England managed to reach a safe score.

Butler was adjudged the player of the match in this match. Right now New Zealand team has reached the first position and England secured the second position team in the points table.

Now Australia will have to pray for a big win over Afghanistan and England’s defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in their next match on November 4, otherwise, all the doors seem to be closing for them.

England had made a big score while batting first

Electing to bat after winning the toss, the England team made a great start for the first wicket with 81 runs in 10.2 overs, in which Alex Hales scored 52 runs in 40 balls.

After this, Butler, playing the captaincy innings, made a brilliant 73 off 47 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Apart from this, none of the England batsmen could do much and Moeen Ali (5), Liam Livingstone (20), Harry Brook (7) and Ben Stokes made 8 runs in a hurry, but despite this, they managed to reach the score of 179 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

England won this big match by 20 runs

When New Zealand’s team, captained by Kane Williamson, came out chasing a huge target of 180 runs, it did not start well and Finn Allen (16), and Devon Conway were dismissed for 3 runs.

After this, Captain Williamson, who was struggling for some time, also went on after scoring 40 runs in 40 balls.

Standing alone on the crease, Glenn Phillips, the only hope of the Kiwi team, kept fighting but in the 18th over of the match, while playing a stroke, he became a victim of Sam Curran and scored 62 runs off 36 balls. In this innings, Phillips hit 4 fours and 3 sixes.

For England, Chris Woakes and Karan took 2-2 wickets, Mark Wood and Ben Stokes got 1-1 success.

New Zealand’s team could only manage 159 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets and England won this big match by 20 runs.
